This is why one of the favorite materials used in the interior design of rooms and buildings is glass. Today, it can be used to make not only doors and windows, but also floors and stairs.

The glass in our glass ceilings is characterized by a high Young's modulus, which reaches approximately 72,000 Mpa. In this respect, it even outperforms aluminum, whose Young's modulus is 69,000 Mpa. In terms of tensile and compressive strength, our glass can be compared to concrete and even steel.

Its compressive strength is 800-1000 Mpa, while its tensile strength is in the range of 30-90 Mpa. Other materials are superior to our glass only in terms of load-bearing capacity.

Why are glass ceilings popular?

A glass ceiling is a horizontal glass element of a building that separates individual floors. It significantly increases the safety of the facility because it serves as a fire barrier in the event of a fire.

Our company offers the construction of specialized glass ceilings with fire resistance of REI 60. Moreover, glass has the highest light transmittance among building materials, which means that more sunlight reaches the rooms, making them brighter and more spacious.

We recommend their installation, especially in buildings where natural light is needed. It is in such interiors that they are most widely used. In addition, they become a beautiful element emphasizing the modern design of the facility.

We most often use three layers of glass in our ceilings, connected with each other with PVB foils. The top glass is always tempered glass, and the bottom glass is raw or semi-tempered glass.

The optimal glass thickness is calculated individually for a given project. When designing the ceiling, we also take into account other parameters, such as the dimensions of the form or the method of supporting the glass.

Depending on the load that will act on the glass ceiling, we use supports:

  • point;
  • support on 2 sides;
  • support on 4 sides;

Various processing methods

You can also adjust the edge treatment to your interior. You can choose bent, ground or polished edges.

Our ceilings and floors are equipped with an anti-slip print. It determines the safety of the ceiling and guarantees good adhesion regardless of the conditions. The print is created using screen printing (by applying mineral enamel), which is then fired in an oven. It blends into the top layer of glass, creating delicate embossments on its surface. This protection guarantees good adhesion even on a wet surface.
